Timber Linn Memorial Park Fundraising Letter (3/7/18)

posted Mar 7, 2018, 3:17 PM by AYSO Team Parent Coord Jennifer Denver

Good Afternoon AYSO Families,

Some time ago we began the development of a first class soccer park in Albany at Timber Linn Memorial Park.  We have partnered with the city of Albany to level the fields and install underground irrigation.  The first phase, or upper field, is completed with irrigation installed.

This will reduce fatigue for the players and provide a safer playing surface.  Participants and spectators for the Hot Air Balloon launch during the Air Festival will also benefit from a more level and safer field when attending the Air Festival.

We are now moving on to the second and third phases of the Timber Linn field project and raising the funds to pay for the irrigation.  The cost associated is about $60,000 and we have kicked off the campaign to raise these funds!

As an all-volunteer organization, AYSO Region 870 needs your help to continue this project!  We have set up a GoFundMe page to make it easier to donate.  Below are the ways to get there, please share this with friends and family, neighbors, pets, etc.

Find us on Facebook: AYSO Region 870 - Click on the “Donate” button.

Region Website: - click on the Fundraising tab.

Other ways to donate: Did you know you can turn your volunteer hours into donations?  Several companies in the region have programs where your volunteer hours for a non-profit, like AYSO, can be turned into a donation to that non-profit.

For example Walmart has the Volunteerism Always Pays (VAP) program, ATI Metals has a similarly named program, and HP has HPI Inspires Giving through Benevity.

We will be having a fundraising event during the upcoming Spring Season as well!  The item we are selling will be First Aid Kits!

Thank You,
Aaron Falotico

End of season announcements

posted Oct 21, 2013, 7:33 AM by AYSO 870 Regional Commissioner Aaron Falotico

Hello AYSO Families,

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the parents, players, coaches, team parents, and volunteers for a great fall season. It seems like only yesterday that practice was beginning and games starting. For those of you who are wanting to play in Socctoberfest this weekend, we need your registration forms by Tuesday at the latest. If you have questions or still need to get your team registered contact the Socctoberfest registrar Kendra Hale at ASAP. There are still a few open slots but its first come first served.

For those of you who are not playing in Socctoberfest we will plan to see you for spring season.

A few things to keep in mind over the winter break.

1. Players remember to stay active. Work on those individual skills that you were taught this past fall.

2. Watch your email and the AYSO region website. We plan to offer a winter camp or two to refresh your skills during the break.

3. Coaches and Team parents will be contacting players towards the end of January to determine who all is planning on returning for spring season. It is absolutely imperative that the coaches or team parents get notified if you are returning or not. If you do not plan to return and don't tell someone your team may end up being short players for spring season.

4. Spring registration will be in February. The spring registration is to only fill empty slots on teams and replace players who may not be returning for spring season.

5. Spring season practices will begin sometime towards the end of March. Games will begin in April.

I hope all of you have a wonderful winter break.
